Warm temperatures are still keeping the fish in the surface layers the margins especially attracting a lot of fish. So floating lines and smaller patterns still seem to be catching most fish and casting parallel to the banks seems to be the tactics
Once again been some excellent fishing this week. Temperatures are cooling but the fish are still feeding on the surface with most fish being taken on Buzzers and Dries

This rain has really refreshed the lakes. No weed problems at all this summer. Plenty of activity on the surface with most fish being caught on Dries or Buzzer patterns usually olive or black variations
Warm conditions have made the fishing a bit harder this week. Still plenty of fish showing on the surface but are difficult to tempt during the middle of the day. Morning and early evening have produced the best results
Some very mixed weather this past week has made the fishing very interesting. On those cold windy days the best tactics have been lures such as Cats Whiskers fished deep and slow
At last all of the ice has gone and we can have some proper winter fishing. All the lakes are fishing well at the moment. Normal winter tactics of slowly fished lures are working well and during the warmer times of the day fish have been caught on dries or buzzers. At times what been a killing combination is a Hares Ear fished 2ft under an indicator.

Mixed fishing this week with some anglers taking lots of fish but others struggling to tempt them. There are lots of fish feeding on or below the surface but you need to select the correct fly to make the most of the feeding fish as they can by fussy. Small patterns are the answer, buzzers, cdc’s etc
Three special fish caught this week. Nigel Tupman of Northallerton caught a stunning Rainbow of 17lb on a Black Buzzer fished on only 3lb leader
Two nice doubles have been caught this week. Neil Richardson of Newcastle caught a fin perfect 17lb Rainbow on a size 16 Black Midge. Peter Foster of Chilton landed a Rainbow of 12lbcaught using a Black Buzzer, this was one of 12 fish
